Musicoterapia applicata alla Triade Prematura (PT-MT) durante la degenza nel reparto di neonatologia: un caso singolo

Questo studio sul caso singolo aveva l’obiettivo di verificare se la Premature Triadic Music Therapy (PT-MT) potesse ridurre i livelli di distress del neonato prematuro (in degenza in un reparto di neonatologia) e quelli dei suoi genitori. Un neonato con un’età gestazionale di 34 settimane ricoverato nel reparto di neonatologia è stato reclutato. Il neonato ha partecipato a 5 sessioni mentre i suoi genitori a 3. Al neonato sono stati misurati, in ogni sessione di PT-MT, la saturazione del sangue, la perfusione sanguigna, e la frequenza cardiaca in tre tempi (Pre-PT-MT, Durante PT-MT, Post-PT-MT). I genitori hanno compilato invece l’Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) all’inizio e al termine del trattamento di musicoterapia. I risultati hanno evidenziato un miglioramento negli indici fisiologici del neonato dalla fase Pre-PT-MT alla fase Durante-PT-MT. Questi indici sono inoltre rimasti stabili in quasi ogni sessione al termine dell’intervento (Post-PT-MT). Il padre non ha evidenziato un cambiamento nei punteggi dell’EPDS, mentre la madre ha riportato un aumento del distress al termine della PT-MT. Tuttavia, per i genitori la PT-MT è stata un’esperienza rilassante e ha permesso loro di potersi isolare dal mondo per alcuni minuti. In conclusione, i risultati ottenuti con la PT-MT applicata al caso singolo possono esser considerati promettenti per la riduzione del livello di distress nei neonati prematuri.
